Alexander Keiths India Pale Ale
From Canada's maritime province Nova Scotia and the Alexander Keith Brewey comes Keith's India Pale Ale.
was originally crafted for British troops serving in India. The high quality ingredients and the preservative effect of hops kept the beer fresh on the long voyage down the coast of Africa, around the Cape of Good Hope and into the Indian Ocean. This superior ale soon became the favourite of British troops everywhere. With so many soldiers stationed in Halifax, each with a daily 1 gallon ration of beer, it made sense that the city have its own India Pale Ale- or so thought Alexander Keith. In 1820 he began brewing India Pale Ale under his own name. To this day, his fine ale is still produced only in Halifax.

Scotland
Innis & Gunn
The beer was first made in 2003 when
using oak to age beer was unheard of.
For 30 days this honey-hued beer sleeps in hand selected oak barrels, locked inside a bonded warehouse, gradually assimilating the subtle flavours that reside in the wood. Barrels are then emptied and maturation continues for a further 47 days in a marrying tun where these natural flavours infuse and fall into perfect balance
The flavours imparted by the oak barrels (previously used to mature bourbon) lend an incredible depth of
taste. Think vanilla, toffee and orange aromas, with a malty,
lightly oaked palate; soothing and warm in the finish
